Stores Assistant 21/07/2010
Working as part of a small team within the stores department, the successful candidate will be responsible for operating a range of machinery (after training), together with the unloading/loading of vehicles. In addition, the successful candidate will also be involved in the booking in and out of stock and contract items, and also involved in the inspection of bought out parts.


Main Duties

·Follow production guidelines in processing products
·Liaise with works department and colleagues on unloading of vehicles.
·Responsible for loading and unloading of incoming/outgoing goods, and checking of deliveries to despatch notes.
·Check quality and quantity. Book stock into the opera system. Then store stock in the pre allocated area.
·Input stock data into opera database to maintain stock control.
·Meet despatch deadlines
·Ensure effective and appropriate storage of incoming goods.
·Liaise with colleagues when arranging appropriate and cost effective transportation for deliveries.
·Ensure procedures for documentation, labelling and packing etc are adhered to in compliance of quality control.
·Maintain weekly stock reports for consumable items.
·Collect and issue of works overalls.
·Communicate progress with the team during the manufacture of items
·Issue of materials to works department.

Training will be provided to complete the knowledge base the successful candidate would require.

Ideally we are looking for someone with experience of working within a Factory Stores environment, and who has a forklift truck licence. The successful candidate will also be a proven team player, also able to work on their own initiative. The successful candidate also needs to be computer literate, due to the on-site stock management systems.
